Emergency & Sedation FAQs
What should I do for a dental emergency after hours?
If you experience a dental emergency outside of our regular office hours, it’s important to stay calm and take immediate steps to manage the situation:
For a knocked-out tooth, try to place the tooth back into its socket if possible. If not, keep it in a container with warm milk, saline, or your saliva to preserve it until you can see a dentist.
For swelling or injury, rinse your mouth gently with warm water and apply a cold compress to the cheek near the affected area to reduce swelling.
Avoid placing aspirin or any medication directly on your gums or tooth, as this can cause tissue damage.
Use over-the-counter pain relievers like ibuprofen to help manage pain and swelling if appropriate.
Contact our office as soon as possible during business hours to schedule an emergency appointment.
Do you offer same-day emergency appointments?
Yes, Lynn Haven Family Dentistry offers same-day emergency dental appointments. If you are experiencing a sudden dental concern, you can call the office promptly to schedule an emergency visit.
